What do pole dancing and climbing have in common?
Lots actually – flexibility, body awareness, and strength for starters. But of course, there aren’t a lot of people who do both … at least I didn’t think so!
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about taking pole dancing lessons for a while. Nothing to do with climbing and I’m not becoming a stripper or anything. But I think it would help with some of the weaknesses I have in blues dancing. So I’m planning on signing up for pole dancing lessons as soon as I can fit it into my schedule.
And then randomly and for unrelated reasons, I was reading Sonnie Trotter’s blog today. And of course, the blog is almost all climbing related. That’s why I read it! And guess what I found!?
So it seems I'm not the only climber thinking about pole dancing! LOL. I love it when my different interests intersect like that.

I do both. :)
I'm in Colorado, and started rock-climbing in Boulder, where I live, and I pole dance (exercise classes) in Denver.
Cheers!
Wow! And I thought yoga was good for climbing.
Can't say much about this. The mind is wandering a bit...
