Squamish Happiness

Adrianne and I headed up to Squamish on memorial day weekend for the first trip of the season. Her goal was to get more comfortable on lead and my goal was to see where I was at at the start of the season and maybe push myself on lead a bit.

I remember that I love Squamish, but memory is better at holding knowledge than feelings. So I'm always blind sighted with pure Joy on the first trip up every year. And this year was no different. The most important part of the trip was just being there in soaking up the sunshine and the beauty, feeling the movement of my body over the rocks.

Adrianne led the following routes:
Fern Gully, 5.4
Laughing Crack, 5.7
Cat Crack, 5.6
Davy Jone, 5.7
Klahanie Crack, 5.7

I led the following routes:
Rampage, 5.8
Corner Crack, 5.8
Sally Five Fingers, 5.8
1000 Pardons, 5.8
Cold Comfort 5.9
Mosquito, 5.8
Phlegmish Dance, 5.8
Mushroom, 5.9

We set up top ropes on the following climbs. I got both of them clean and leading both is a goal for the summer:
SM Delight, 5.10b
Jabberwocky, 5.10a

And since we didn't get any pictures -- here's a video for you to enjoy.  An oldie, but a goodie and still inspiring!
